First off, thanks for finding us. We really appreciate it when people spend some time on our site and the fact you’re reading this section means you must like what you’ve found! We are based in the lovely seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare, England, within a stone’s throw from the beach. HOUNDWORTHY isn’t really a typical dog accessories company. You’ll notice that we truly aren’t into the “hard sell” and we steadfastly refuse to put lame stuff in our shop. Instead, we offer our customers only top notch goods that we believe are worthy of consideration… quality items that are designed well, work well, and either have a great story behind them or are capable of helping you create your own great stories. HOUNDWORTHY filters out the worthwhile from the ‘so what’, bringing superbly designed canine gear to dog lovers worldwide. Our company is constantly evolving but we promise to stick to our guns in terms of quality control – if it isn’t worth your time, we simply won’t present it to you. It’s how we’d wanna shop. Enjoy!
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
HOUNDWORTHY was launched by Morgan Cummins & Jo Holdaway in 2013. We are both creative professionals with backgrounds in advertising & design. This company is very much an extension of our own hound-appreciating lifestyles. We created HOUNDWORTHY because we realised there was a serious lack of authenticity when it came to shopping for your dog, and nobody was talking about the things we care about. Finding worthwhile, meaningful goods for dogs was harder than it should be, and for people who would rather be out there enjoying life, instead of sitting inside, endlessly Googling to find a well-crafted collar or dog coat or whatever, well… we figured we could change things for the better. Measuring Your Dog
Like humans, dogs vary in size and physique. Even within individual breeds, there are many variations in size. There are no standard sizes in the pet industry. Each manufacturer adheres to their own sizing range for their own products. These are guidelines only!
Neckwear and apparel is sized according to the actual measurements of the garment, so unless specified otherwise in the listing, be sure to allow a bit of extra space for comfort. If any of your measurements are toward the larger end of the size range, you may want to choose the next size up. Also for heavy coated dogs, a larger size may be required, especially in the cold seasons when their coat tends to be thicker. Please measure carefully before purchasing and email us if you have any questions about fit. All of our goods are measured in centimetres (cm). Unless otherwise noted, the measurements on all our dog coat listings refer to the back measurement.
The three basic measurements of a dog’s body are BACK, CHEST and NECK.
BACK measurement is the length of your dog’s back. Measure along the top of the spine from the high part of the back between the shoulders, where the neck joins the body, to the base of the tail where the tail joins the body.
CHEST measurement is taken all the way around the biggest part of your dog’s ribcage. Measure just behind the shoulders down and around just behind the front legs and back up to the starting point.
NECK measurement is taken at the place where your dog’s collar would naturally rest. You need to ensure you measure a complete circle around the animal’s neck. We recommend you do this at least twice to get an accurate measurement. Additionally, you can also use a soft tape measure to measure the inner circumference of your dog’s existing collar (when done up at the size he/she usually wears it at) but this should only be used as a secondary sizing measurement. Between these two methods you should be able to determine the correct measurement in centimetres.
Do not measure the length of your dog’s old collar to determine your dog’s neck size as this is not an accurate way to measure your dog’s actual neck circumference. Please also avoid relying upon measuring your dog’s old collar by laying it out flat, as this also does not accurately determine the size required when a collar is worn around a dog’s neck.
HOUNDWORTHY COLLAR SIZING
Our Size & Fit collar measurement ranges outlined on each product listing refer to the approximate minimum and maximum measurements that a specific collar size (XXS, XS, S, M… etc) will usually fit within. These measurements are provided as guidelines only. Due to the differences between fur types, breeds, and individual body mass index (body fat) some degree of variation can be expected between individual animals, even within the same breed, so measuring your animal is vitally important before you select a collar size. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements before you place an order for a personalised collar.
If your dog’s neck measurement is within 1-2cm of the minimum or maximum range for a collar size please message us and we’ll help you select the most appropriate size for your dog. We re-iterate, this is especially important if you are adding your dog’s name to the collar.
***VERY IMPORTANT: Once a collar has been personalised, the item is strictly non-refundable and not eligible for return or exchange (as stated in our Terms & Conditions). Delivery & Returns
DELIVERY CHARGES FOR UK CUSTOMERS
To keep things simple, we have a relatively straight-forward shipping policy. We provide FREE DELIVERY on all UK orders (with a few exceptions – see below). Our standard delivery parcel size for UK orders is the Royal Mail Small Parcel (not exceeding length 45cmx width 35cm x depth 16cm). If additional postage is required because of the size or shape or weight of your parcel, we will contact you. Your goods will be shipped using either Standard or Express service, as explained below.

Parcels will be sent via Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard service without tracking. If you would like your parcel tracked please select Weekday Express. We are not responsible for parcels lost in the post.

Parcels will be sent via Royal Mail 1st Class Tracked service and will generally require a signature to receive. We are unable to send parcels tracked to PO boxes.
UK DELIVERY SERVICES EXPLAINED

Larger goods such as dog beds will be shipped via a preferred courier of our choice – a signature is required.
We dispatch orders on working days only. Our working days are Monday to Friday. If you place an Express order on the weekend your order will be dispatched on Monday.
For Weekday Express service all orders must be received before 12pm GMT. Orders requesting Express service received after 12pm GMT will be dispatched the same day where possible, or the next business day. Your order will be sent using Royal Mail or a courier of our choice. We will always do our best to get your order out as fast as we can but cannot guarantee next day service if your order was received after 12pm GMT. PLEASE NOTE: Weekday Express delivery does not apply to personalised goods.
For Weekend Express service, your order must be received by 12pm GMT (Friday only) for delivery next day (Saturday only). Any orders received on a Saturday for next day delivery will be despatched on Monday and will be considered Weekday Express orders. If you have any questions please email us. PLEASE NOTE: Weekend Express delivery does not apply to personalised goods.
Express service delivery time is not applicable for the Highlands, Islands and outlying areas, where delivery will be 2–3 working days.
OVERSIZED ITEMS: There are various items in our collection that require additional postage due to their size and weight. Presently this includes all dog beds, in all sizes, all framed art prints & all blankets. For the UK, this extra charge is between £5-£40 depending on which courier is used. Please contact us at email@example.com before you complete your order at the checkout. We’ll do our very best to get it to you as cost-efficiently as possible, but please be advised that the courier charge for sending these particular items is higher than our standard delivery charge.
DELIVERY CHARGES FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS
We welcome International customers and over half our orders are destined for countries outside the UK. Again, to keep it simple, the following charges apply to all orders placed from outside the UK. All parcels shipped via our preferred courier service.
Standard service delivery charge for EU orders is £7.99
Standard service delivery charge for rest-of-the-world orders is £9.99
Delivery times can vary depending upon destination country so allow up to 15 working days for receipt of your goods. Import duties are solely the responsibility of the buyer and HOUNDWORTHY will not be responsible for any import taxes or other charges arising from your purchase.
If your parcel costs more to ship to a certain destination than our standard International Delivery charge, we will send it via regular delivery via Royal Mail. Please contact us before you place your order if you want tracked/signed for delivery – this can be arranged but may incur additional charges. Where applicable, all additional postage fees must be settled before we can dispatch your goods.
OVERSIZED ITEMS: There are a few items in our collection that require additional postage due to their size and weight. Presently this includes all Cloud 7 dog beds, in all sizes, and all framed art prints and all blankets. Depending on where the item is being sent, this extra charge is between £30-£80. HOUNDBOX orders may require additional postage depending on options selected (due to additional weight of the contents). Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org before you complete your order at the checkout. We’ll do our very best to get it to you as cost-efficiently as possible, but please be advised that the courier charge for sending these particular items outside of Europe is higher.
ODD SHAPED PARCELS: It’s pretty rare, but occasionally we receive orders where the products selected are of mixed shapes and weights, which in some instances creates a parcel size that does not fall within our normal International delivery charge parameters. Whilst we will try our best to find an affordable way to get them to you, we reserve the right to cancel any order that exceeds our stated delivery charge. A surcharge may apply, and we will notify you via email as to your options.
ORDERS TO SWITZERLAND: For some insane reason, shipping to Switzerland is inordinately costly. And try as we might, we can’t seem to find a way around it! Please be advised that we will apply a surcharge of £10 on top of our usual standard service charge for EU orders (total to be paid will be £19.99). An additional request for payment will be emailed to you via Paypal and your order will be dispatched upon payment of this extra £10 delivery charge.
DELIVERY CHARGE CORRECTIONS
Occasionally an order may go through our website and complete the transaction payment process but for one reason or another, an incorrect delivery charge is applied to the order (or not applied at all). When this happens we will email you to let you know there was a delivery charge issue on your order and if any additional payment is due. We reserve the right to correct delivery charge errors (up to and including refusing the order) before dispatching any goods. We will send you a payment request via Paypal which you can use any card to pay the outstanding fee – once settled we will dispatch your item immediately.
NO EXPRESS DELIVERY ITEMS
Certain goods on this site are only available on a longer delivery schedule because of the nature of how they are produced. Some of our collars are made to measure, and only produced as and when the order is received. These are not “shelf stock” items. Personalised items are bespoke items and thus take longer than normal to fulfil. We’ll do our darnedest to get you your goods pronto, but it would be unrealistic to promise these types of items in Express service time. Thanks for your understanding!
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase you can return it for an exchange or refund, provided it is within 30 days of receipt of your order and in saleable condition. After 30 days from the date of purchase, returned items will be assessed on a case by case basis to determine cause of failure, if any applies. Faulty items will either be replaced or refunded as appropriate to the circumstances. Products purchased as gifts can only be refunded to the original purchaser. Food items will only be exchanged or accepted as a return if they are unopened and your request for an exchange or refund is received within 30 days from the date of purchase. Personalised or customised items are strictly non-returnable and we will not issue a refund for any reason. Please ensure you have selected the correct size before you place your order. Read our Size & Fit Guide before you place your order. Christmas items are non-returnable. If you decide to return an item (or exchange), the cost of return is your responsibility and HOUNDWORTHY will not refund you the cost of return postage. Additional postage for exchanging an item is also your responsibility and we will not pay for additional postage if you decide to exchange an item.
Many of our products are made by artisans and skilled craftspeople in small quantities; minor variations in manufacturing detailing can be expected in some products, and we believe it often adds to the character of these interesting items. From time to time some products are subject to minor design changes to improve their overall construction or performance. We reserve the right to alter our products (particularly leather goods) where we deem the changes are necessary to improve them, but these minor changes do not affect stated sizing nor fit, as described in the product listing on the website. As such they are not acceptable reasons for return on the basis of manufacturing fault. However, if you think your product has a serious problem, please contact us and we will assess whether or not the product has suffered a manufacturing fault. Items that are damaged as a result of usage are not considered to be faulty. Due to the nature of dog accessories, and their intended usage, we are not able to accept returns nor exchanges for any reason after 90 days from the date of purchase.
Please note that Vintage Finds are not considered new goods and are sold as is; all items in this section are pre-used and will not be considered as Faulty Goods for any reason. Condition of each item varies and the degree of wear or patina of age is different from piece to piece. Please contact us if you want to know further details about a particular item before you place your order. Vintage goods are non-returnable so please be sure before you buy!
HOW TO MAKE A RETURN
Please send an email to email@example.com and we will guide you through the process for returning your goods. All goods must be returned to us in undamaged, unused condition so please take care to package them well. We recommend you include a short note with your name and the reason for your return or exchange. We cannot be responsible for returned goods lost in transit so please insure your returned items for your own peace of mind. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing.

We’ve worked really hard to provide high quality goods that we believe are worthwhile. However, should you wish to exchange your goods you may do so within 30 days of ordering. If you decide to return an item for exchange, the cost of return postage is your responsibility and we will not pay for return postage nor supply pre-paid return labels. As long as the item is in “as new” condition, HOUNDWORTHY will accept it and replace your purchase with a product of your choice, refunding any difference in price or taking additional payment. To cover the additional postage & packaging we charge a re-stocking fee of £4.00.
Due to the nature of dog goods and their intended usage, we are unable to provide exchanges for goods that we deem to have been used, no matter how lightly. Please keep this in mind when considering your request for exchange. Personalised or customised items are strictly non-exchangeable and we will not accept an exchange on these for any reason. Please ensure you have selected the correct size before you place your order. Read our Size & Fit Guide before you place your order.
We are not responsible for lost parcels or item gone missing due to delivery address errors entered during checkout. Please ensure you double check your address details before your submit your order. The address you provide is the one that will go on the label. Please note that we are not responsible for parcels once they have left our care and entered the postal system. If you have requested Tracked or Signed For delivery, we will provide assistance to locate lost parcels but no action can commence until 30 days has elapsed from the date an order was dispatched (from which time an official Lost Parcel investigation can be filed with Royal Mail).
HOUNDBOX is available for international orders but only as single boxes. Orders containing multiple boxes will incur additional delivery charges. Depending on the options selected, some orders will require additional postage due to the increased weight of your HOUNDBOX. Our Standard Service Rest Of The World Charge of £9.99 will be applied to all orders coming from outside the UK. We will contact you to notify you of any additional postage required on your order.
Payment & Processing
HOUNDWORTHY ACCEPTS MAJOR CREDIT CARDS FOR ALL ONLINE TRANSACTIONS
We use a very secure payment system called Stripe. Our customer’s peace of mind is very important to us so we ensure that all personal details are processed using a secure server, and no card details are retained after your transaction is completed. You may pay for your purchase with any major credit card including Visa, Mastercard or American Express and you will receive confirmation of successful payment via email. Or if you prefer, you can also pay with PayPal. With either option, you can be confident in your purchasing with us as we do not store any sensitive data and both systems are very reliable.
PAYMENT BY PAYPAL
We offer PayPal as an option because we believe it’s also a very safe way to buy goods online. Simply follow the instructions on the checkout page. PayPal is a reputable and widely accepted international secure payment service used by millions of people every day for purchasing goods online. If we can trust it, trust us, you can trust it! You can pay for your purchase via PayPal using any major credit card including Visa, Mastercard or American Express and you will receive confirmation of payment via email.
PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER
Should you wish to do so, we are also able to accept payment via direct bank transfer, but goods will not be dispatched until funds are received. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to pay via bank transfer.
PROCESSING YOUR ORDER
We try to process all orders within 24hrs of receiving them, however there are occasions where this will vary. If your order is received by 2pm, we’ll do our best to dispatch it the next working day.
ADDITIONAL PAYMENT REQUESTS VIA PAYPAL
When there are additional charges to pay (extra delivery or courier charge, additional items added to your order after initial payment, corrections to display prices on our websites due to technical glitches or for any other reason, we will use PayPal to request payment. The following explains our responsibilities regarding your order with us, and how your transaction will be handled. It’s a lot of legalese that isn’t overly fun to read, but is important for you to understand these terms & conditions when you shop with us.

2. OUR CONTRACT
2.1 Your order (“Order”) constitutes an offer to Us to buy the Goods you select via your Order on the Web Sites. All Orders are subject to availability and acceptance by Us. We will send You an email acknowledging receipt of Your Order. Please note that this does not constitute acceptance by Us. The contract for purchase of the Goods is agreed and accepted by Us only when We send You an email dispatch confirmation.
3. REGISTRATION, PASSWORDS AND SECURITY
3.1 You have the option to open an account via the Web Sites to place Orders. On registration of an on-line account, You will select a Password and User Name that You can use to access Your on-line account.
3.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of Your Password and User Name and are responsible for all activities that occur under them. We do not have the means to check the identity of people using the Web Site and will not be liable where Your Password or User Name is used by someone else (unless such use is due to our negligence).
3.3 You agree to notify Us immediately of any unauthorised use of Your Password or User Name of which You become aware.
4. YOUR STATUS
If you are under 18 years old you are not authorized to make a transaction or register an account with Us on the Web Sites. By placing an Order through the Web Sites, You confirm that You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts and You are at least 18 years old. If you are not legally capable of entering into contracts, We are legally entitled to cancel the order with You and will not be obliged to supply the Goods.
5. PRICES AND DELIVERY
5.1 The price of the Goods is as stated on the Web Sites from time to time and as confirmed to You as part of the Order process when We confirm Our acceptance of Your Order to You (except in the case of obvious error). Prices shown are inclusive of UK Value Added Tax; French Taxe sue la Valeur Ajoutée; German Mehrwertsteuer and any other applicable taxes.
5.2 Prices are checked regularly. However, if We find the price has changed or that there has been a pricing error when We receive Your Order We will contact You and ask if You wish to proceed at the correct price. If You confirm that You do wish to proceed, then your confirmation constitutes a new Order to us and please remember that We will not be under an obligation to supply the Goods until We have sent You an email dispatch confirmation.
5.3 Goods will be dispatched by Royal Mail or a courier of our choice.
5.4 Prices shown on the Web Sites do not include delivery. Our delivery charges are as follows and will be confirmed to You during the Order process:

5.5 We shall endeavour to dispatch the Goods to You as soon as possible after You place Your Order, normally within 2 working days if the Goods are in stock, and in any event within 30 days beginning on the day after You place Your Order. If We are unable to dispatch the Goods within that time We will email as soon as possible to let You know and give You an estimated delivery date and You will have the right to cancel Your Order and receive a full refund as set out in that email.
5.6 As soon as the Goods are delivered to You, You are responsible for them. If a parcel is damaged, please notify us via email firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone (01934 415 277) by 5pm the next working day.
5.7 Payment for all Goods must be by credit card. We accept payment with PayPal or you may pay for goods using a direct bank transfer; however goods will not be despatched until payment has been received. Contact us via email to arrange for processing direct bank transfer payment.
5.8 At the point when We send You an email order confirmation, We will process the payment details You have given to us to take payment for Your order. If You have placed an order using PayPal, You will be charged as soon as the order is Confirmed. We will process payment for all the Goods including any back ordered Goods. Any back ordered Goods will be shipped when they are in stock. You may cancel Your order of back ordered Goods before the point of shipment by contacting Customer Services by email or telephone.
5.9 Orders: For Your security, when using a credit/debit card, the billing name, address and phone number must match that of the credit/debit card used for payment. We reserve the right to cancel any order that does not match these criteria.
6. RETURNS AND CANCELLATION
6.1 We want You to be happy with Your purchase from Us. If you are unhappy with the Goods in any way please contact us via email, telephone number or letter as provided above.
6.2 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions of Trade is intended to affect Your statutory rights. These rights include:
6.2.1 That any Goods supplied by Us will be of satisfactory quality, fit for their intended purpose, and will conform to the description given;
6.2.2 certain remedies if Goods are defective; and
6.2.3 except for customized Goods, a right to cancel within a specified period and receive a full refund even if they are not defective as is set out in paragraph 6.3 below.
6.3.1 If for any reason you are unhappy with Your Goods (other than customised, sale, reduced price or Goods during a promotional period), in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, we offer you the right to cancel Your Order and return The Goods to us for a full refund provided that:
(a) The Goods are received back at HOUNDWORTHY LTD; 29b Clarence Road North, The Coach House, Weston Super Mare, BS23 4AW United Kingdom within 30 days. These 30 days commence the date that we send an email to you confirming the Goods have been dispatched.
(b) You return the Goods to us in substantially the same condition in which you received them. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the Goods while they are in your possession. Please include where possible the original packaging, labelling and a copy of your original invoice.
(c) If you decide to return the Goods, the cost of return is your responsibility and HOUNDWORTHY will not refund you the cost of return postage.
(d) The Goods are not customised, sale or reduced price Goods. This 30 day return offer does not apply to customised, sale or reduced price Goods. See section 6.3.6 for information about your cancellation rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 for these goods.
(e) Your right of return and cancellation set forth above is without prejudice to your local statutory right of cancellation.
(f) All refunds under the 30 day return offer will be made within 30 days of Our receipt of the returned Goods.
(g) If a bundled or promotional item is returned affecting the validity of the offer, your refund or exchange will be adjusted to reflect the fact that the promotional price is no longer valid.
6.3.2 The following cancellation rights apply to residents of Germany only:

6.3.3 If Your Goods are faulty or do not meet the description given on the Web Sites, please contact us as soon as possible via email or telephone number as given above to arrange a return and replacement of Goods. 6.3.6 For all Goods other than customised Goods, consumers have a right under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 to cancel orders during the period of seven working days beginning with the day after the day on which You receive the goods. Customers outside the UK have fourteen (14) days to cancel orders under these rights. If you wish to rely on your statutory rights, You are required to cover the cost of returning the cancelled items to Us.
6.3.7 All refunds will be made within 30 days of notice of cancellation.
7. LIMITATIONS ON OUR LIABILITY TO YOU
7.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions of Trade shall:
7.1.1 exclude or limit Our liability:
(a) for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or our Gross negligence or the gross negligence of Our employees or agents;
(b) for death or personal injury resulting from Our negligence or the negligence of Our employees or agents;
(i) section 2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987;
(ii) Articles 1641, 1386-1 and 2114-4 and seq. of the French Consumer Code; and
(iii) the German Product Liability Act.
(d) for any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt, our liability.

7.2.2 make Us responsible for any damage or loss caused to You where You are not entering into these Terms and Conditions of Trade as a consumer (as defined under Your local statutory law).
7.3 our aggregate liability to You for any loss or damage arising in connection with these Terms and Conditions of Trade shall be limited in respect of each claim to the purchase price of Your Order or Orders.
7.4 We are not responsible for any delay or failure to comply with Our obligations under these Terms and Conditions of Trade if the delay or failure arises out of any event which is beyond Our control. Such events shall include, without limitation, failure of infrastructure, government intervention, wars, civil commotion, hijacking, fire, flood, accident, storm, strikes, lockouts, terrorist attacks or industrial action affecting Us or Our suppliers.
